BOPROB
BOPROB is a towed work implement for extracting soil samples at a depth of 10-30 cm at a travelling speed of 3-12 km/hr., depending on the soil type and properties. The extraction cycle lasts only about 8-10 seconds, i.e. for 16 penetrations per mixed samplings the extraction of the complete sampling takes about 4 minutes, including driving time. The BOPROB has a magazine for 16 soil single samplings, i.e. enough to allow 1 hour of continuous soil sampling on normal soil without any interruption for emptying the container. Sample extraction while travelling considerably reduces clutch wear, fuel consumption and driver effort because constant stopping and starting, and thus clutch engagement, are eliminated. Crank arm, cleanser and collection magazine are hydraulic driven, and the hydraulic pump is driven by a 5.5 HP Honda engine. Function of “BOPROB” is tracked by a camera and can be permanently supervised by the driver via the 7”-monitor of the operating panel. The large tires (215/75 R15) grant smooth running and cause very little soil pressure. Construction as trailer allows an immediate operation with any adequate tractive unit available, and a quick uncoupling after the work is done. Extraction depth can be adapted on 10 cm, 20 cm, 25 cm or 30 cm. By using the special “nematode kit” it is also possible to take nematode samples out of 5 cm depth only and only 5 m distance between each extraction. The “BOPROB” offers two control programs: - Using program no. 1 the operator has to trigger each extraction cycle manually by a remote control. The end of each extraction cycle is signaled by a beep-tone. - The second program is automated and the operator indicates the required distance between the extractions in the settings before the start. The extraction cycle is triggered automatically after this distance was driven. To prevent damage because of lateral overload while driving curves the operator can stop the meter-counter with his remote control and start again when driving straight on again. Functional short description: - A disc crank type probe cranks to the front while the probe extends outwards at the same time. The disc crank and the probe reach the forward-most start point at the same time. |
